CIRCULAR NO. 09/2020 - 2ND ASIA – PACIFIC REGIONAL SCOUT EDUCATION FORUM (EDUFOR) 2020

We are pleased to inform you that Asia-Pacific Region in collaboration with the General Association of the Scouts of China is organizing the 2nd Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Education Forum (EduFor) 2020.

This event is organized in order to ‘increase the effectiveness of Youth Programme in NSO’s by supporting the implementation of world and regional policies, programmes, events, initiatives, frameworks and platforms’ as stated in objective No. 3 of the APR plan 2018-2021 under the strategic priority of Young people.

EduFor 2020 will serve as an evaluation on how the region, as well as the National Scout Organisations (NSO) has progressed in the areas of Educational Methods. It will look at Youth Involvement, Youth Programme Review, implementation of Safe from Harm Policy in Youth Programme, as well as understanding the aspirations, needs and behaviour of today’s young people.

This even will also take into consideration the outcomes of the recently concluded World Scout Non-Formal Education Forum in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in December, 2019, particularly the Rio Declaration.

Details of the event as follows:

 Dates    25th to 28th June, 2020  Participants are requested to arrive on 24th June, and can depart on 29thJune, 2020

Who can attend  Adult Scout Leaders, Volunteers or Professional responsible for topics related to education (Youth Programme, Adults in Scouting, Unit Leader Training, age sections, diversity, community development etc.) to meet and share information as well as form partnerships and work together on topics of common interest. Preference may be given to ‘Young Adults” (aged 20 years old and above)

Forum Fee  USD 150.00 per person Which includes inland transportation between the International airport and the Forum venue; food (from dinner of 24 June 2020 to breakfast of 29 June 2020) accommodation for five nights, sharing room, Forum kit and documents and a half day educational tour.

Caution Money   Rs. 10,000/- Non-refundable if selected and not participated and adjustable after participation. Demand Draft is to be send in the name of the Director ‘Bharat Scouts and Guides’ payable at New Delhi. Selected candidates will have to pay Rs. 1000/- as administrative charges and Rs. 1500/- for magazine which will be adjusted against caution money and Rs. 2500/- towards Scout/Guide welfare fund.

Airfare, Visa& Insurance Charges  

  1. Air-fare from New Delhi to Taiwan and back approximately 51,000/- (subject to actual on the date of booking)
  2. Visa charges 4,500/- (approximately)
  3. Travel Insurance 2,000/- (approximately).

Total      Rs. 57,500/- (approximately)

Last Date of Application 

As the quota is limited, selection will be on the basis of ‘First Come First Serve’. The application of the participating  candidate should reach to National Headquarters, New Delhi on or before 28th February, 2020 along with caution money Rs. 10000/- & photocopy of valid passport.


You are requested to encourage deserving candidates and recommend application in prescribed proforma (enclosed) to the National Headquarters, Bharat Scouts and Guides, New Delhi along with caution money latest by 28th February, 2020.
