CIRCULAR NO. : 56 /2021- COVID-19 INFECTION – CREATING MASS AWARENESS PROGRAMME & SUGGESTED ACTIVITY IN THE COMMUNITY BY THE MEMBERS OF THE BHARAT SCOUTS AND GUIDES
Dear Sir/Madam,
We take this opportunity to thank you for encouraging and motivating the members of the Bharat Scouts and Guides of your State Association for joining hands and supporting the State/District and Local administration by organising various commendable services in the local community to combat this unprecedented pandemic with utmost commitment and dedications.
As you are aware, today India is fighting massive surge in COVID-19 infections as a second wave in the country as the Coronavirus disease has now spread across the country and now taken its turn towards the village and rural sector.
We appeal to all the State Associations to kindly communicate our stakeholders at all level of the organisation to initiate mass Covid-19 awareness campaign in the community on its symptoms, its prevention from infection and follow the measures to prevent the spread of the virus issued by the Ministry of Health, Govt. of India time to time as well as Covid protocols. It is also requested that mass awareness campaign may be initiated on the benefit of Vaccination and its registration process.
The awareness programme can be initiated through Posters, banners and stickers at public places and other public transport stations following strict covid protocols to spread the message on its prevention. Social media would also be used as part of the awareness campaign. Today, awareness and precautions are all the more important to combat the surge in COVID-19 cases in India.
The Bharat Scouts and Guides stand committed to “Duty to Country” as envisaged in Scout/Guide Promise and our Organisation can aid and supplement in the efforts of the government and local administration in the undermentioned suggested areas following Covid protocols and guidelines :
- To assist and support the local administration in setting up community kitchens particularly for migrants and homeless population working in urban areas.
- To create awareness about prevention, hygiene, social distancing, isolation and combating stigma.
- To extend support for distribution of PPE and protective provisions-sanitizers, soaps, masks, gloves etc. for community workers and volunteers.
- Partner with local governments in enlisting volunteers from among individuals and communities.
- To develop communications strategy in different vernaculars whereby they become active partners in creating awareness at the community level so that COVID-19 spread is tightly controlled and false information is fully countered.
- Preparation and distribution of Mask.
- Sanitization work.
- Creating Mass awareness on spread of Pandemic as well as Covid Testing.
- Creating Mass awareness about the Covid Vaccine in the community.
- Assist Local administration, Police and other agencies in combating Covid Pandemic
It will be highly appreciated if action taken report on mass community awareness programme initiated by the State Association and other commendable services rendered to combat covid pandemic is submitted time to time to the National Headquarters with action photographs, if any so that the same can be highlighted in BSG News, NHQ Monthly Magazine and may be able to forward to the Ministry, Govt. of India as well as to WOSM & WAGGGS for wider circulation.
