Scouting Guiding is an organisation of international character and which is operating in 216 countries & territories for educational development of young people.

In India the Bharat Scouts and Guides is the only association (Registered under Societies Registration Act 1860) and affiliated with WOSM, Geneva & WAGGGS, London. The constitutions of WOSM/WAGGGS recognises only one association per sovereign country as its affiliate. The Bharat Scouts and Guides was recognized as the only Scouts and Guides Association by Ministry of Education, Govt. of India since 1967 vide letter dt. July 5, 1967 of the than Education Minister and we are the Apex Body for Scouting/Guiding in India as stated in the official website of the Govt. of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports https://yas.nic.in/youth/promotion-scouting-guiding. We find that many organisations claiming themselves as recognized bodies of scouting are approaching the State Governments and Educational Institutions to provide Scout/Guide activities.

In view of the above, all the state associations are requested to make suitable preventive measures to safeguard the interest of the youth by initiating awareness at government level and among masses.
