Dear Sir/Madam,

We are pleased to inform you that Sri Lanka Scout Association is organizing a Global Cultural Jamboree from 16-18 July, 2021 virtually, to keep scouting live during this COVID-19 pandemic. We invite active participation in the event which will not only be an enjoyable experience to the participating Scouts and Guides but also an important educational experience. The Jamboree will be held under the following categories:

Cultural – A

A1 – Folk Dance (Video 5-7 Minutes)

A2 – Folk Song (Video 5 Minutes)

A3 – Poetry (Video 4 Minutes)

Food – B

B1 – Demonstration of Preparation of 1 Food item (20 Minutes video or live on Zoom)

B2 – Display and explanation of Traditional Foods, seasonal foods (video)

B3 – Lecture on good eating habits (Zoom)

Costumes - C

C1 – Scouts dressed in different National costumes with movements (Video)

C2 – Different types of clothes and modern trends (Video)

C3 – Wearing (dressing) a national costume (Demonstration on Zoom)

Archaeology –D

D1– Historical Places (Video 5 Minutes)

D2 – Historical Artifacts (Video)

D3 – Ancient and present Coins & Stamps (Demonstration on Zoom)

Religious & National festivals - E

E1 – Traditional Festivals (Video or Demonstration)

E2 – Religious Festivals (Video)

History - F

F1 – History of Country (Video)

F2 – History and use of Mother Language (Video & Zoom)

Who can participate    :    Youth participants 
Scouts/Guides – 11-18 Years of Age
Rovers/Rangers – 18-26 Years of Age

Each patrol shall consist of 8/9 Scout/Guide, Rover/Ranger and  one Unit Leader
Platform    :    Participants can select the desired activity and participate by joining the online platform ZOOM
Pre-recorded Video    :    Participants in their Patrol should submit - Pre recorded video quality of the desired activity from the category A to F (selection of activity patrol wise) should be 1920x1080 px – full HD 1080p resolution

Registration     :    Candidates will be issued a Jamboree username which could be used to log into the event platform

Upon the completion of activities, an event code will be issued by the activity moderator. Participants are required to note down this code and enter it in the Jamboree Certification platform between 18 and 21 July 2021 to be eligible for Jamboree Award

Jamboree Award    :    For the Jamboree Award – Eligibility criteria is given in the registration link

Certification    :    Jamboree Certificate will be issued after closing of the Event to all participants via the email address provided

Participants are required to enter Jamboree ID and event codes of participated events along with the participants email address and name (to appear of the certificate). This is individual responsibility and subject to attendance 

State Associations is requested to encourage the willing candidates to join the event and promote opportunity to the Young people to expose in the International event virtually.
